Playspace mover vrchat2/2/2024 ![]() ![]() You can add something like dance socks to the shoe if you need more slide (for things like dancing, zumba, etc.) With the right kind of lacing you can create a very robust set of 3 loops that can be tightened with a single slide of the lace locking mechanism, has no chance of slipping off like a strap, and is more robust than normal laces. They've always come loose.įeet trackers: if you aren't apposed to wearing shoes inside, using a pair of comfortable laced shoes, with the laces replaced with the elastic shoelaces. I've had multiple pairs, the plus, amazon knockoffs. I just really hate the velcro of the track straps. If you're budget-conscious (or are willing to take my word for it), there are equally as good or better DIY options that are cheaper. Trackstraps are fine, but I personally dislike them. The slightly smaller tracking FOV of the 3.0 (240 vs the 2.0's 270 degrees) is absolutely meaningless if you're strapping the trackers to your waist and feet (unless you waist is smaller than the tracker.) If you can find good deals on these (there was recently a few listings on Ebay for "unclaimed freight" 3.0 trackers that went for ~85-100USD per), I would recommend 3.0 over 2.0. On the other hand, the 3.0 are lighter and are physically smaller, making them a bit more comfortable to wear. You might be able to find a really cheap used set of 2.0 trackers (maybe even with straps). They're typically harder to find at low prices though. On the other hand, 2.0 basestations have slightly wider sweep (possibly better coverage, depending on setup), no need for line of sight for sync, and you can use a total of 4 in a single setup. You will likely find extremely cheap 1.0 base stations in used Vive sets on the used market in the US (and maybe even get a working backup headset). Pick 1.0 or 2.0 depending on your budget. You will need at least 1, but recommended 2, for full tracking coverage. "Basestation" and "Lighthouse" refer to the same thing (they're called "lighthouses" because they literally sweep light around your room, kind of like a traditional lighthouse).maybe getting a natively SteamVR-tracked headset would be better?
